Today is the World Internet Day
On April 4, World Day is celebrated worldwide. The year of the creation of the Internet was considered to be 1969, when most of the US Defense Ministry institutions united their computer networks into one integrated network, ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network).

Initially, the network was connecting four scientific institutions that created it, but soon the network began to grow vigorously. The first e-mail program was developed in 1971, and in 1973 the first international organizations joined the network from Great Britain and Norway, thus making the network international.

In 1983, ARPANET started using the TCP / IP protocol, which is still used. Today, more than a third of the world's population uses the Internet.
