"Film production is booming in Japan now, and people are more likely to visit movie theaters. I think this festival will be a good opportunity to showcase modern Japanese films in Armenia as well, "said Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Chun Yamada.

According to him, many are eager to watch Japanese classic films, and he hopes that next year he will be able to present films by Japanese directors such as Yasujiro Ozu and Akira Kurosawa.

The official opening ceremony of the festival took place on December 12 at Moscow Cinema in Yerevan.
