Armenia participated in European Union Eastern Partnership Youth Engagement online Summit on July 2-3.

400-500 young leaders and activists from different parts of the European continent and, particularly, from Eastern Partnership countries, including Armenia, participated in the event aimed at discussion around collaboration process in the field of politics for the youth from European Union and Easter Partnership countries, to advance the dialogue between the youth and policy makers and to promote experience exchange and future partnership development. “Youth engagement in the Eastern Partnership: exploring the present and navigating the future!”, “The Future of the Youth Political Dialogues in Eastern Partnership “, and "Encouraging Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship” were the key topics of the discussions.

Artur Martirosyan, Deputy Minister of RA MoESCS; Lawrence Meredith, Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations and Director-General in charge of Eastern Neighbourhood and institutional development; Olivér Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement; Katarína Mathernová, Deputy Director-General for Neighbourhood Policy; the Director of European training foundation, and others, as well as representatives (Deputy Ministers) of Youth Political Field Coordination ministries of Eastern Partnership Countries, took part in the discussion and delivered speeches.

Artur Martirosyan greeted the participants and thanked the initiators of the event for organizing it. During his speech, he talked about youth employment issues of RA, and presented the current as well as planned State projects and programmes, directed at promoting vocational education through formal and non-formal education, strengthening the link between education and employment, educational orientation in middle school and high school, introduction of professions with future high demand in VET (Vocational Education and Training) institutions, in higher educational institutions, etc. He specifically emphasized that the introduction of information on entrepreneurship is a new approach in the ongoing improvement standards of State education.

During his talk, the Deputy Minister also expressed his gratitude towards the European Union for reinforcing Armenia in the education and youth sphere with the necessary toolkits.
