The Winners of the 2019 Youth Award Program have been Announced
The annual awards were held in 11 nominations, honoring the young people and youth groups that made significant strides this year and made various achievements.

The solemn ceremony and awarding ceremony at the Yerevan State Chamber Theater was held at the Youth Awards 2019 program. The application process started on October 21 and continued until November 23. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia had the primary goal of promoting the youth participation in public life.

 Raising the level of youth involvement in the active processes of solving the socio-economic development of Armenia was another important goal. The program implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science was a unique way of encouraging the large-scale work of young people and youth groups, youth NGOs contributing to their activities, and evaluating their achievements.

The award ceremony was held in 11 nominations this year. The online application could be filled by anyone (16-30 year old), youth groups (at least one of the group members must be young) in each of the 11 nominations for their significant achievements in 2019. The young people in the top three of all nominations were invited to take part in the event, where the winners were to be decided by online voting and attendance at the Yerevan State Chamber Theater.

5. Young Cultural Figure / collective - Saghara

6. Youth Worker - Lilit Makaryan

7. Young Athlete - Arthur Avetisyan

8. Young Repatriate - Narek Susan

9. Young Businessman - Ani Antonyan

10. Young Man of the Year - Tigran Malkhasyan

The nominees (Aren Shakhkyan, Hrant Sarkisov, Argishti Zardashyan) were nominated for the Young Homeland Defender nomination, taking into consideration their service and debt to the homeland. The representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, who awarded the winners, once again emphasized the role of the young Defender of the Motherland, noting that all the nominees are truly worthy of the awards.

Aram Verdyan, the winner of the Young Agricultural Award nominee in the Martakert region of Artsakh, said he was surprised to learn about his participation in the program: “Just 20 hours ago I was informed that I had to attend this event. I have left everything and come, but along the way I have pondered what I do for our country and our state as a young person, how I contribute to the prosperity of the country, to the improvement of people's lives, to the dynamic, sustainable development of existing economic indicators, to the notable successes. This is very important for any young person because you understand how you can help and contribute to your country's prosperity. I can say that here I am transformed. I am truly grateful for such a high honor.”

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan awarded the prize to Marina Antonosyan, who won in the Young Scientist nomination. According to the Minister, such bright individuals can make progress for our society by their example: “The individual, as an important component of our society, ensures our progress through personal transformation. Never stop dreaming, never. It is the most important recipe for victory and success.”

The audience had the opportunity to enjoy beautiful music during the awards ceremony. Nemra Armenian rock band, Space band and Lavo Armenian alternative rock band performed.
